Lent 2022

Join with us for a Lenten journey of self awareness leading to self and community transformation.

Lent is a season of preparation. Historically, those new to the Christian faith and those wishing to renew their faith have adopted community-wide practices for the shaping of their spirits. We at FBCR turn our attention to the same pursuit, committing together to a practice that will aid us all in our personal callings and give us new tools for effective relationships in our families, in our work lives, and in our church life. The Enneagram is an ancient tool for maximizing one’s self awareness. Along with self awareness comes spiritual awareness, emotional intelligence, highly satisfying relationships, and effective collaboration. During the season of Lent we will gather on Wednesday evenings (in-person and/or online depending on current circumstances) to dive into this ancient medium for self and community transformation and our Sunday worship experiences will borrow from the themes uncovered in our collective reflections.

Ash Wednesday Details

Ash Wednesday begins the season of Lent by reminding us of our limitations and frailties. Only when we know our limits can we truly know who we are. An overview of the Enneagram will lead us into moments of worship asking God to travel this transformative journey with us.  We are gathering on Zoom (and for those with need, in the sanctuary) at 6:00 PM on March 2, 2022.

Holy Week Service Details

The week between Palm Sunday and Easter is set aside in Christian tradition to recall the events of Jesus’s betrayal and crucifixion. Transformation, we learn, is not for the faint of heart. We will mark these moments with a Tenebrae service recalling the abandonment of all 12 of Jesus’s disciples and his crucifixion. More details to follow.
