Rev. Joanne Gilbert-Cannon, senior pastor at First Baptist Church of Rochester, Rabbi Peter Stein, senior rabbi at Temple B’rith Kodesh, Rev. Kara Wagner Sherer, bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Rochester, sat down for a discussion with Evan Dawson on WXXI’s Connections Radio program.

 Connections interview

The above, as a representative group of a larger interfaith group of leaders from across the Greater Rochester area, have joined together for a conversation about how faith speaks to our current time in history. Their focus includes immigration, ICE, concerns for the country, and more. See their letter below with various leaders’ signatures as of 2/17/26.

The leaders then encouraged people to gather to discuss and brainstorm ways all faiths can find unity in their differences of faith for the good of all at a meeting at the First Universalist Church on February 24, where around 200 individuals from the community participated.

More information to come as it develops.
