Join Us For Worship

Sunday Services

Every Sunday at 10:00am

Worship at First Rochester has been described as warm and inviting. We gather weekly to sing and pray, read and listen as a community committed to faith, hope and love. Our service, worship and music, is a mix of formal and informal, older and newer, ancient and contemporary. One of our pastors, or guest preachers, will offer a reflection on a topic or biblical text, seeking to inspire, comfort and challenge us in our walk of faith. We celebrate Communion (also called The Lord’s Supper) on the first Sunday of each month as part of our worship service.

Music Program

Music is at the heart of the First Rochester family. Those who love to make music and those who simply enjoy listening will find a place among our congregation. We like a variety of musical genres, so you may hear Classical to Contemporary, Jazz to Taizé, Folk to Gospel, and more. In the summer and at other times, we invite guests to join us and share their musical talents.

Ways to be involved:

  • The volunteer choir rehearses on Sundays from 9:15am – 9:45am and sings in worship twice a month. Our Eastman School of Music Section Leader Quartet enriches the volunteers and sings on the other Sundays.
  • Our children sing most Sundays from 11:15am – 11:45am after Sunday School and occasionally play or sing in worship.
  • The volunteer bell choir rehearses for a few weeks prior to ringing in worship a couple times each year.

To learn more or to be part of any of these opportunities, contact our Music Director, Henry Griffin at henry@rochesterfbc.org

Special Services

Throughout the year we highlight some occasions with special services. These services include Children’s Music, Jazz ‘n Jeans Sundays, Christmas Eve Candlelight Service, Christmas Cantata, Outdoor Worship, or an intimate Taizé Service. They often change from year-to-year.

Watch our Church Calendar for upcoming events.

Worship Online

Our hope is that you will join us in person for worship as we want to see you. We understand that due to travel or illness, sometime that is not possible. That is when instead you may wish to join us online.
