On Sunday, December 17 at 10 AM, please join us for a special Cantata celebration during Sunday service. Music director Henry Griffin will be leading the First Rochester Choir along with vocal and instrumental colleagues from the Eastman School of Music in one of Bach’s Christmas Cantatas, BWV 133 “Ich freue mich in dir” (I Rejoice In You). The Cantata is a bubbly musical celebration of praise during the Christmas season and features two incredible arias, a touching chorale, and even two rarely-heard baroque instruments: oboes d’amore! In addition to the Bach Cantata, special service music will include Henry’s own arrangements of Carol of the Bells and O Holy Night for treble voices.
